2012 Long & Foster Companywide Community Service Day

This will be the 15th annual event in which many of Long & Foster's sales offices and the headquarters staff in Chantilly will break away from the day-to-day operations to give back to the communities in which we live and work.

On April 16, 2011, the little waterfront community of Deltaville was devastated by a tornado that ripped through the center of its tiny village.  The twister completely destroyed 28 homes and caused major damage to 21 residences, and minor damage to 31 residences, with an estimated damage of $6.1 million dollars.  Click here to watch a video clip to preview some of the damages. The path of the tornado missed our Long & Foster office by less than a half mile.

The Deltaville and White Stone Bay River offices of Long & Foster will be participating again this year in the community service project on June 6, 2012!!  Although it has been just over a year since the tornado, there is a continued need at the Deltaville Community Association (DCA) building and grounds. The building has been restored and the pool has been repaired and is open to the community and visitors.  The playground equipment was destroyed and new equipment was ordered.  We will assist in the installation of the new playground equipment and will be spreading sand around the equipment for the safety of the children.  We will help to beautify the playground with gardening and plantings in an effort restore what was taken away in seconds.  We are proud to be affiliated with an organization such as Long & Foster that gives back to their community!
